1.
Packer is responsible for packaging each type of product and will rotate every two hours to a different station.
2.
Cove Base Lengths:
these products are all packed by taking individual 4-foot long pieces from the extrusion and placing them into a carton until full.
A lid is placed on the carton and then pushed onto the conveyor system where they are strapped and stacked on pallets.
Weight varies from 7-48 lbs.
per carton (packer does not lift full carton).
Cartons are pushed over a roller conveyor to the conveyor belt with a maximum of 15 pounds of exertion.

Cove Base Rolls:
these products are rolled onto a hollow cardboard core (using both hands), then lifted and placed into a carton.
Length of a full box is 100 Ft.
and the weight is 16-48 lbs.

12 Foot Lengths:
these products come off the conveyor in a 12-foot length.
The packer then slides it down the table and nests for packaging.
The product is then slid into the box by the packer or operator and taped closed.
Carton weights vary from 19-75 lbs.
but it is no the packers responsibility to move the cartons to the pallet.

3 Foot Lengths:
these products are all packed by taking individual 3-foot long sections from conveyor and placing them into a box.
The weight for the product is 8-12 lbs.
per box.
6.
Quality:
the packer is responsible for ensuring that the product packaged is of good quality.
A visual check of each piece should be made to ensure color and surface meet requirements.
Width of product should be checked with gauge or master sample at least 3 times per carton.
Any product that does not meet specifications should be scrapped.
If the packer is unsure about quality they should check with the Operator or Shift Supervisor.
7.
Packers print labels using the computerized label printing system.
8.
Housekeeping:
general housekeeping should be performed anytime other packing activities are not required.
Activities include sweeping and trash removal.
9.
Other duties as assigned.
